Who We Are

Founded in 1930, Starkey, Inc. is the oldest community-based nonprofit in Sedgwick County serving people with disabilities.

We help nearly 500 people with intellectual disabilities to work, live more independently and engage in their community

Mission

Starkey nurtures development and promotes independence of people with intellectual disabilities.

Vision

Starkey will embrace its rich legacy, community partnerships and commitment to innovation to help persons with developmental disabilities achieve progress toward independence, experience meaningful relationships and be of value to their community.

Electronics Recycling 

Starkey accepts electronic waste for recycling from the general public and local businesses, and employs individuals with disabilities to disassemble the electronic items and sort the parts for sale to local recycling companies.

Through its e-cycling program, Starkey accepts:
