GE Lighting, a Savant Company recommends recycling Compact Fluorescent Bulbs (CFLs) and Linear Fluorescent tubes at the end of their life. All fluorescent bulbs require a very small amount of mercury to operate with high efficiency. Recycling recovers lamp materials, including mercury, for reuse.

LED light bulbs and LED light fixtures can be recycled by the same companies that recycle CFLs. Although there is no mercury contained in these products, their materials can be captured for reuse.
