Battery Recycling

Our responsibility to the environment is just as important as all of the other aspects of our business, and we firmly support battery recycling. Fedco Batteries is a licensee of the Call2Recycle program of The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC).

RBRC was founded 1994 by the major battery manufacturers and other interested companies for the sole purpose of developing and administering a national collection program for recycling Nickel-Cadmium batteries. This was necessary at the time because it was apparent that each of our 50 states was in the process of developing their own collection program to keep the cadmium containing batteries out of sanitary landfills. RBRC developed a plan and worked with congress to pass the Universal Waste Act (See 40CFR Part 273) which was signed by President Bill Clinton in 1996.

Today, RBRC administers the Call2Recycle that program collects and recycles Lithium-ion, Nickel-Metal Hydride and small sealed Lead Acid batteries as well as Nickel-Cadmium batteries using over 10,000 retail collection points in the United States and Canada. For more information and to find a Call2Recycle drop-off location near you, call 1-800-822-8837 or go to www.call2recycle.org and enter your ZIP Code into the 'Drop off Location' box.

Fedco Batteries continues to be a licensee of the plan for the batteries that are sold in the U.S. and Canada and has paid over $80,000.00 in license fees since 1996. In addition to supporting the Call2Recycle program, Fedco Batteri
