SHERWOOD INDUSTRIES BEGAN AS A SMALL FAMILY BUSINESS.

Founded in 1975, Sherwood Industries Inc. is a family owned and operated business. We began by creating specialized polyester and polyether foams designed specifically for use as speaker surrounds. Within a year of our foam development, our U.S. sales grew, and we began exporting our foams to Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Europe, and other countries around the world.

Continuing our product development, we started extruding Santoprene TPV sheet for use as speaker surrounds. Our Santoprene market quickly expanded to include automotive parts, building and construction materials, household appliances, electrical and energy products, and medical applications.

As we grew, we needed more space and moved to our current facility in Niles, Illinois. We have now expanded to include a profile extrusion line and a recycled rubber line, to complement our foam products and sheet extrusion.

RECYCLED RUBBER SHEET

Sherwood Industries extrudes an environmentally friendly rubber sheet. Recycled rubber is rubber that has been reclaimed from scrap material such as EPDM scrap or SBR scrap from tires and blended with recycled polypropylene making it a 100% recycled product.

Recycling rubber helps the environment as it reduces the amount of rubber going into landfills. Additionally, recycled rubber can be reprocessed again and again. This means recycled rubber is infinitely recyclable unless the materials are changed. Recycled rubber is less expensive than rubber and offers excellent durability. It has cold temperature impact, high tear resistance, is UV stable and can be vacuum formed.

Used as mud flaps, in engine compartments, in wheel wells, as rock shields, as well as in many industrial and commercial applications.
