Prairie Materials owns and operates a network of ready-mix concrete plants and aggregate facilities in three Midwest states – Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan.

We offer a full line of ready-mixed, decorative, and high-performance concrete, as well as aggregate products.

From our very first yards in Bridgeview, Illinois, we’ve expanded steadily to become the region’s foremost provider of performance concrete, ready-mix, and aggregate construction materials.

Thoughtful acquisitions of other respected family businesses in Indiana, Michigan, and downstate Illinois have allowed us to grow without losing our focus on customer satisfaction and the needs of local stakeholders.

Today, Prairie employs 1,800 professionals in nearly 100 locations in the three-state area.
Prairie’s materials form the core of major structures throughout the Midwest, including Trump Tower Chicago, the Milwaukee Art Museum, and the Indianapolis International Airport.

Recycling

 ​​​​​Prairie recycles 100% of the concrete that comes back to our facilities keeping millions of pounds of re-useable materials out of landfills. Prairie has a number of recycling centers where we accept torn out or returned concrete.

Prairie also accepts uncontaminated soil and uncontaminated soil mixed with clean construction or demolition debris (CCDD) that complies with EPA regulations.

Buying Recycled Concrete

Recycled concrete makes a great base material and it's less expensive than natural stone or gravel. Recycled concrete is available at all our aggregate locations.
