East Valley Remediation Facility

62150 Gene Welmas Wy, Mecca, California, United States | Waste Management

East Valley Remediation Facility (EVRF) is proudly owned and operated by the Cabazon Band of Cahuilla Indians. EVRF specializes in the acceptance and remediation of non-hazardous soils and liquids.

Located on Tribal land, our Southern California facility is the largest of its kind in the western states.

The Cabazon Band of Cahuilla Indians owns a square mile in Mecca, California. EVRF is located on a 40-acre parcel,  previously leased and managed by a third-party operating team.

In 2023, the Tribe assumed management and operations of the facility. The Tribes goals are three-fold: economic diversification, developing a cleanup fund to remove legacy material left by others and foster development of innovative remediation techniques in the industry.

The management team consists of two environmental professionals who have been in the industry and worked for the Tribe for over twenty years. They have working relationships with federal and state government regulators and the local community. The daily operation of the facility is run by a team of five employees.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to combine our responsibility for environmental stewardship with our expertise to provide sustainable solutions for the remediation of contaminated soil and liquids.

As a Sovereign Nation, we are dedicated to preservation of our land. Through our responsible business practices, we strive to restore and protect our natural resources for generations to come.
