Apex Surplus has been in business in Sun Valley, California for more than 60 years. We are a family-owned business founded by William and Charlotte Slater in 1958.

Since then, Apex has been collecting excess inventory, scrap metal and surplus goods to offer a treasure trove of rare and out-of-production items from past to present, to rent or purchase.

We are proud that three generations later, Apex has evolved to meet the demands of our rapidly changing world while remaining true to its roots.

Since 1958, Apex has been at the forefront of non-ferrous scrap metal recycling and liquidation in Los Angeles County. Along the way, Apex has found sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions in prolonging the life of recyclable goods. We assist both businesses and individuals with their everyday needs. Specializing primarily in aviation surplus and consumer industrial, Apex is pleased to offer thousands of products at an affordable price. In addition to surplus, Apex is also an industry leader in set decor and prop rentals. Through 60 years of accumulation, we are home to some of the most unique and hard-to-find items in the world. Our yard stretches over an acre and our 10,000 square foot store is filled with new inventory daily.
