With a desire to improve his soil health on his farming operation, owner Randy Van Kooten set out to learn more about the impact of compost on soil health and discovered a passion for sustainability.

At Skunk River Compost, we are dedicated to doing the right thing for our planet by transforming organic waste into nutrient-rich compost instead of allowing it to fill landfills. Our mission is to repair soil health and promote sustainable agriculture practices through innovative composting solutions. We believe in fostering a healthier environment for current and future generations, one compost pile at a time.

At the end of the day, without our soils we have nothing. With compost, we’re helping restore organic matter that is essential to sustain healthy soils, while also keeping unnecessary waste from entering our landfills
