Our Story

John McGowan & Sons, Inc. is a four-generation family business that has been serving Long Island and Greater New York’s commercial, municipal, and residential contracting needs since 1928. John McGowan Sr. started the business with a flatbed Mack like the one pictured below and a 6-wheel dump truck. Today, we have grown to own and operate over 200 pieces of heavy equipment and vehicles, with over 20 employees. We specialize in parking area construction, asphalt paving and repair, parking lot maintenance, drainage installation, masonry, and concrete work. Additionally, we are highly experienced in all aspects of site work and excavation.
