Matt T Bins and Hauling, like many other companies, started as an idea. Matt T Excavating was already established and was thriving, but we discovered a real need in the Cowichan Valley for a professional bin rental business. We now serve all areas from Langford to Nanaimo and of course Lake Cowichan/Youbou areas.

Sometimes cleaning up after years of accumulating stuff or after a renovation or even after a winter storm can be very overwhelming – simply renting a bin makes it so much easier to manage. People are so grateful for the service and the option to make their lives easier by simply renting a bin and having it delivered and picked up with minimal fuss and disruption.

Matt T (Thomas) is a familiar name in the Cowichan Valley. A proud member of Cowichan Tribes, he has been playing sports with his brothers since he could walk. He grew up with nine brothers and one sister, and all of them athletes. Matt played basketball and hockey and he even played for Cheers, a fastball league, when he was older.

With his wife Brenda, his popularity and integrity were what inspired them to open their first business, Matt T Excavating and Septic Systems. It was a bonus that he had 20 years experience working as an operator for Fortis Energy.

They didn’t waste any time. In fact, the day after they got married, Matt flew to Prince George to take his ROWP course. They have enjoyed building these businesses together: Matt T Excavating and Septic Systems first then soon after, Matt T Bins and Hauling.

They are both hard-working people who found happiness sharing their success with family and continue to do so, hopefully inspiring the younger generation to follow in their footsteps.

They are proud to be able to sponsor the young athletes in their family, sponsoring the Nanaimo Timberman Junior B team, where Matt’s nephew plays lacrosse, and Junior B hockey, where two of their grandsons play.
