Americans throw away nearly 85% of their clothes, even though nearly all of those items can be recycled. Throwing away clothes in a landfill produces greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change.

The EPA reports that over 16 million tons of clothing and textiles end up in landfills every year, comprising over 5 percent of total space. By comparison, we recycle only 2.6 million tons. The most common solution lies in the middle: donating your unwanted clothing for reuse.

The clothes we collect from our bins, donation center, charities and thrift stores are donated to local non-profits and the balance is sent and reused in developing countries, where the demand for used clothing is high.
