Supported by more than 20 years of experience from its shareholder – SUMA – Serviços Urbanos e Meio Ambiente, SA -, TRIAZA is responsible for managing the Azambuja Non-Hazardous Waste Treatment Center. Pursuing a policy of combating the uncontrolled deposition of waste and safeguarding resources, this infrastructure, located in the space of a deactivated quarry, will also promote, in the course of its activity, the environmental and landscape recovery of its location.

Planned for a life cycle of 40 years, the non-hazardous industrial waste landfill (RNP) has an installed capacity for depositing waste generated in industrial and intensive production centers, being prepared to receive more than 1 million tons and capable of admitting all types of non-hazardous waste, as long as they comply with the admissibility criteria set out in Decree-Law 183/2009, of 10 August.

Its integration, in a highly industrialized perimeter, enhances this infrastructure as a preferential recipient for the technical confinement of waste, in accordance with Environmental License No. 463/2013 and License for Waste Management Operations No. 009/2017 , issued by CCDR-LVT.

To guarantee the control of waste disposal and its compatibility with the defined criteria, TRIAZA applies a Procedure for the Admissibility and Discharge of Non-Hazardous Waste of Industrial Origin, which functions as an informative and regulatory instrument for good environmental and safety practices in the Azambuja landfill. On the other hand, TRIAZA is also governed by the Procedure for Admissibility and Discharge of Construction Waste Containing Asbestos.
