Faroe Marine Products started production in 2001, with the vision of producing most of the fish for human consumption.

Faroe Marine Products gets its raw material from all the fish factories in the Faroe Islands. Studies show that approx 50% of the fish come ashore in the Faroe Islands.

Faroe Marine Products gets its raw material from all the fish factories in the Faroe Islands, these factories, therefore, get a value increase of the fish. The factory was built to accept 6,000 tons of raw material per year. The factory has been regularly expanded so that it can now receive 15,000 tonnes a year. This yields about 12,000 tons of ready-dried fish heads and others, annually.
