Kendon Packaging’s current status as one of Britain’s leading packaging companies has been earned over decades of service to businesses across all commerce sectors - from logistics and catering to asbestos removal and beyond.

Whatever your packaging issues, we’ll seek to solve them by drawing on our decades of experience passed on through the family business. From our initial days trading in rope in the Lea Valley in London to our current status in the packaging industry, everything we do is informed and perfected by the sheer level of expertise we have at our disposal here at Kendon.

Kendon Packaging Group has grown over the years to comprise several different manufacturing sites, from our main headquarters at the Innova Business Park in Enfield to our sites in Nottingham, Manchester and West Yorkshire.

You can read more about our story, from the early years as Kendon Rope and Twine in the 1930s, through our 20th century expansion to our role in making the London 2012 Olympics happen

This means we have a truly nationwide reach and are flexible enough to solve just about any packaging issue businesses may have quickly and efficiently thanks to our fleet of rigid vehicles and trailers that can fulfil orders with the minimum of fuss.

We have a strong eco-friendly ethos here at Kendon, as we’re committed to making our packaging processes as eco-friendly as we can, which is why we promote the use of recycled paper and eco-friendly packaging where possible - to ensure our packaging is produced and distributed in harmony with the environment.

History

Kendon Packaging, our decades of experience have helped us to become one of the UK’s leading packaging companies, specialising in everything from cardboard boxes to bubble wrap.

Our company was founded in 1932 by L.A Kendon Esq. as a London-based supplier of rope and twine. Since then, the Kendon family has steered the company through several expansions, new premises and a vast diversification in terms of the products we manufacture and sell.

The UK packaging sector has evolved massively since the early days of Kendon Rope and Twine, and we’ve evolved with it. Our expansion began in the 1970s with a number of acquisitions of smaller companies - but it was the 1980s that really saw rapid growth, with the purchase of operating sites in the Midlands and the North - in Sheffield, Nottingham and Ossett, West Yorkshire.

The 1990s were also an exciting time for Kendon, as we cemented our status as one of the UK’s premier packaging manufacturers by acquiring Ingham Paper and Packaging - who are leading converters and importers of food grade packaging papers including Multibake, Craftbake and Topbake silicone vegetable parchment.

After the turn of the millennium, Kendon Packaging Group expanded further into the paper products sector, with the acquisition of Manchester-based Harver Packaging and T.Y Nuttall, which manufactures all kinds of paper packaging - bolstering our portfolio of available services.

This was only the start of our millennial expansion, as we acquired Portland Polybags in 2005. Based in Nottingham, this company is a specialist in bespoke HDPE, LDPE, paper products, cotton bags, and non-woven polyprop bags, and has been recognised and respected in the UK market since 1973.
