WHO WE ARE

Traverse City's Residential Compost Service

We are a compost collection and delivery service that uses bicycles with trailers to haul food scraps from your kitchen to local composting sites. ​

Once the scraps have evolved into finished compost in our piles, that soil is returned to the earth through donations to community gardens and sales to households for use in their yards, pots, gardens and beds.

At Carter's Compost, we believe that the resilience and beauty of our community is inseparable from the health of the land we live on. Transforming our food waste into fertile compost is one small way we can collectively nurture the land in the midst of global environmental crisis, mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, and sequester carbon in the soil.
