ÖKRAB, is the joint company of Simrishamn and Tomelilla municipalities whose task is to coordinate waste management in both municipalities. The company was founded in 1973 and has its office at the Måsalycke waste facility, which is located two km south of St. Olof.
Ökrab is responsible for coordination, billing and administration of household waste and recycling issues in our municipalities. Ökrab has given Urbaser AB the task of carrying out the collection of household waste and Ragn-Sells AB manages the sludge emptying of individual facilities at our place in Österlen.
The municipalities of Simrishamn and Tomelilla are now included together with 12 other Scanian municipalities in Sydskåne's waste stock company, SYSAV. Måsalycke waste facility and the recycling centers in Simrishamn, Tomelilla and at Måsalycke are also owned and operated by Sysav.
