From 'incinerator' to high-tech waste-to-energy plant

Whoever says IVM still thinks 'incinerator'.

More than 40 years ago, after the establishment of the 'intermunicipal company', IVM was given the first task of operating a household waste incineration plant where the waste from the participating municipalities would be processed. This installation has been operational since 1981 and has been expanded and refined over the years, from an incinerator to an installation with energy recovery. The energy from waste plant was renovated in 2019. Ready to continue processing the waste in an ecologically and economically responsible manner for the duration of the environmental permit (and beyond).
