Marin Resource Recovery Center

The Marin Resource Recovery Center is part of the Marin Sanitary family of companies and is the primary materials recovery facility (MRF) for all residential and commercial customers in Marin County.

Marin Resource Recovery Center’s indoor dump is the size of approximately three football fields. Built in 1987, it provides the citizens of Marin County with a clean, enclosed environment for the disposal of solid waste.

Each month, the Marin Resource Recovery Center processes nearly 3,000 tons of recyclables using state-of-the-art equipment. A customized system of screens, conveyors, blowers, magnets, and hand-sorting separates dirt, sand, metal, wood, concrete, paper, and other materials for recovery.
