History

KONSTANTINIDI BROS was founded in 1971 with headquarters in the center of Thessaloniki and was initially active in the collection and marketing of scrap metals.

In 1983 it was transferred to privately owned facilities in the area of Evosmos, Thessaloniki. With the purchase and reconstruction of large machines (presses, scissors), industrial production in the field of metal recycling begins.

In 1990 it is relocated to modern privately owned facilities in the industrial park of Neochorouda, Thessaloniki.

In the same year, it becomes the first company in Greece that operates a complete complex for grinding and separating metals with the possibility of car recycling.

In the years 1991 - 1992, when the first withdrawal of conventional technology cars took place in Greece, it is the only pan-Hellenic private company that undertakes the receipt and complete destruction and recycling of withdrawn conventional technology cars at its facilities.

In the following years it is equipped with advanced technology recycling complexes (bale presses, cable recycling complex, etc.).

In 2003 it becomes the first recycling company in Greece to be certified for the quality management system it implements (based on the ISO 9001: 2000 standard).

In 2004 it is one of the few (only two) companies in all of Greece and the only one in the Prefecture of Thessaloniki that has the legally required infrastructure and contributes to the approved system 'Alternative Vehicle Management of Greece' (EDOE) in order to undertake on its behalf the collection, final deletion and recycling of vehicles at the end of the life cycle of the prefecture of Thessaloniki in its facilities.

In the same year, it became the first metal recycling company in Greece to be certified for two new management systems: environmental management system and health and safety management system (based on ISO 14001: 1996 and OHSAS 18001: 1999 standards respectively).

In 2006, it concludes an agreement with the approved system 'Appliance Recycling SA', in order to undertake on its behalf the decontamination and recycling of Waste Electrical Equipment (WEEE).

In 2007, the cooperation with the approved system Hellenic Recycling Utilization Company SA (EEAA SA) begins. Undertakes the sorting and processing of the packages that come from the blue bins at the Recycling Materials Sorting Center of East Thessaloniki in Thermi. Paper, metal packaging, plastic and glass are collected there.

In 2008, in the framework of the cooperation with Appliance Recycling SA, the investment for the establishment of an automated WEEE recycling unit in D. Polykastro, N. Kilkis, is completed, which includes a fully automated freon extraction system from refrigerators and air conditioners.

In 2009, due to the uniqueness of its equipment, it is the only company that participates in the withdrawal of air conditioners under the auspices of 'Recycling Appliances SA' for the region of Northern Greece.
