Advantage Textile Recycling

SL Advantage is a New York State-registered corporation that handles the textile recycling needs of a wide range of clients in the tri-state area. Started in 2010 by its owner Serge Lazarev, SL Advantage (SL) works in conjunction with its non-profit affiliate Green Tree Recycling to handle more than 50,000 pounds of textile recycling a month.

The largest component of SL’s portfolio is work with a wide range of landlords and condominium and tenant associations in the tristate area to serve multi-unit residential buildings. Through these arrangements, SL works with building leadership to identify the optimal indoor and/or outdoor location and size of recycling bin, develop a pick-up schedule, and help promote the benefits to textile recycling. The building sizes and tenancy range from a 50-unit market-rate buildings to a 200-unit subsidized housing developments. These relationships serve to achieve a double bottom line – reduced waste disposal costs for building ownership and the environmental benefit of recycling textiles
