Encore Environmental Services has long roots in the history of Finnish recycling and the circular economy and the unique expertise based on it. We taught Finns to recycle paper.
In 1943, the utilization of waste resources increased in value because, with the war, industry suffered from a shortage of raw materials and society was in short supply. Recycled paper was needed as an industrial raw material. To meet this need, Encore Ympäristöpalvelut Oy was established, which initially operated under the name Jätekeskus Oy. The longest-running name for our company was Paperinkeräys Oy, from the 1960s until the end of the 2010s.
We organized the first paper collection campaign for households in 1947. In the first decades, there were awards for recycling recycled paper. Our company also covers legendary concepts in the field, such as Folder Ö:
