The   METALCOOP , cooperative society working in rl, was formed on 30 October 2012. It operates in the collection, storage, treatment and recovery of non-hazardous waste consisting primarily of ferrous metal scrap and non-ferrous. It carries out its activity in a factory of about 47,000 square meters, of which 10,000 are covered, located in the industrial area of ​​Marcianise Sud in the province of Caserta, easily reachable from the Caserta Sud exit of the A1 motorway.

The company took over the activity previously carried out by another operator on the same site. The re-employment of the same staff made it possible to count on consolidated skills and experience, avoiding the loss of an essential asset for current management and future development.

The purpose of our business is the maximum possible recovery of the materials we handle . 

In order to carry out all the operations for the recovery of waste destined for processing, the company follows the following phases which can be divided into two well-defined lines, one for the hot transformation (fusion) and the other for the cold transformation ( selection, grinding).

The processing cycle for the hot transformation of waste for the production of secondary raw materials (aluminum ingots) includes the following phases:

1. Weighing and classification of incoming materials;
2. Selection;
3. Possible volumetric reduction, pressing-shearing;
4. Preparation of the recipe;
5. Merger;
6. Melt analysis;
7. Any corrections;
8. Ingot;
9. Stacking of ingots;
10. Wrapping, labeling, bagging and storage.

The individual phases of the cycle are described below:

The incoming materials are weighed by means of an electronic scale with relative weighing coupon which, in addition to the weight, also indicates the date and time of the weighing.

After their unloading, the means of transport is reweighed to obtain the net weight of the incoming materials.

The coupon which then shows the gross, the tare and the net is stapled to the transport document or to the FIR (waste identification form) if they enter with this type.

The sorting and sorting operations of incoming waste are carried out by skilled workers able to identify, for example, the different qualities of aluminum (carter, profile, tableware, soft plate, etc.) and waste made up of different materials.

The latter can be recovered, for example iron, or sent for disposal such as paper, cardboard, rags, rubber, plastics or other aggregates.

The cycle for the treatment and cold recovery of both aluminum and other metallic waste is different and much simpler. These can be identified in the following phases:

• Weighing and classification
• Storage
• Selection
• Pressing / Shearing / Blanking
• Grinding
• Storage of MPS
• Shipment

It is understood that among the Secondary Raw Materials, there is also the aluminum deriving from these treatments and which do not flow into the hot working (ground aluminum, ground profile aluminum, selected aluminum profile, etc.)
