The company PRO.MI.SA SRL was founded in 1991 . Initially the main activity was the extraction of sand and clay in the two owned quarries, located respectively in Quartu Sant'Elena and in Ussana.
In 1992, in a part of the quarry located in Quartu Sant'Elena , the collateral activity of a controlled landfill for inert demolition waste (former type 2 A) was started . Through the disposal of inert waste, the environmental remediation of the previously disused sand quarry was carried out at the same time.
Once the hill was restored to its original level in 2001, PRO.MI.SA SRL started the first composting plant in Sardinia.
