PERFECTION & QUALITY

At TAUERNGOLD, the perfect quality of every piece of jewelry begins with the right mix of metals.

In contrast to many other jewelry manufacturers, at TAUERNGOLD the gold is mixed and melted in the in-house melt according to secret recipes to the desired fineness. In order to achieve the quality that our customers expect from us and for which we stand by our name, we do not make any compromises.

To our hard alloys, TAUERNGOLD chains wear out far less than others and are more tear-resistant.

We only use high-quality materials so that our chains remain extra resistant, the alloys are maximally skin-friendly and our jewelery keeps the flawless gold color with a lasting shine even without (the otherwise usual) 'post-gold plating'. This is how our pieces of jewelery bring joy to our customers for many years.

The special TAUERNGOLD quality is a result of many factors. This includes not only our perfectly coordinated and anti-allergenic alloys (gold formulations), but also the experienced hand movements of our employees and the high-quality springs in our closures. There are numerous details that make our TAUERNGOLD products that decisive 'something' better, yes, something special for many decades.

As we at TAUERNGOLD carry out all production steps “in-house” completely autonomously, we can guarantee seamless quality control from the start.

Our attention to detail and the pursuit of perfection are visible, sometimes noticeable, but sometimes also deeply hidden. Much of it only comes out after many years, when you notice that your TAUERNGOLD jewelery is still shining in its old splendor - just like when you held it in your hands for the first time.

We guarantee the accuracy of the fineness and the high quality of every piece of jewelry.

Depending on which alloy the piece of jewelery was made with, it is given a label that the customer can use to identify the fineness. The content of fine gold or fine silver is given in parts per thousand and says how many fine metal parts out of 1000 total parts are in the piece of jewelry.

The so-called 'fineness number' is hammered into a leaf, affectionately called TAGO, together with a Tauern gold hallmark, and hung on the chain or attached to the piece of jewelery in an inconspicuous place.

'In order to give the end consumer [...] security with regard to the correct fineness of precious metals, a hallmarking patent was issued by Empress Maria Theresia as early as 1783/84 and later an obligatory hallmarking requirement (Josef II.) Was introduced.' (Ellert, G. & Rössler , L. Guide to the jewelry and watch trade. 2014)

HISTORY

TAUERNGOLD is named after the famous gold that was mined in the Hohe Tauern mountain range and washed from the rivers in the last century.

In 1891 Ignaz Seeleithner laid the foundation stone for TAUERNGOLD when he founded his first goldsmith. Back then, the few styles were made entirely by hand.

Over the years, the experience and the good reputation of the products that left TAUERNGOLD grew, so that the founder's successor changed location in 1945 and mainly switched to machine chain production. The first machines were built in-house and the skilled workers were trained.

In 1962 the two sons Hans and Walter Hell-Höflinger took over the company. They expanded the product range by many strengths and models and expanded the Vienna location into a wholesale business.

In 1995 the 5th generation joined the company. Klaus Hell-Höflinger has been managing director of the company since 2016 in order to continue the tradition of producing products of the highest quality.
