However, simultaneously, tires have become more expensive than ever to produce since the price of both natural rubber and carbon black, the key component of tire production,  is continuously on the rise.

In response to this pollution crisis, Smart Tire Recycling has developed and patented a sustainable method of recycling tires into high quality carbon black and oil through the use of supercritical pressure and temperature water technology.
