Ben Weitsman of New Castle, a division of Upstate Shredding - Weitsman Recycling, the East Coast's largest privately held scrap metal processor, will open its brand new, state-of-the-art shredder and retail scrap yard in the Spring of 2016. With the addition of the New Castle facility, Upstate Shredding - Weitsman Recycling, will process more than one million tons of ferrous and three hundred million pounds of nonferrous in 2016. This location is one of seventeen, and is equipped with brand new buildings, equipment and scrap processing technology situated on a fully paved and landscaped yard. New Castle positions the company to further expand its feeder yard footprint into Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio.
