Copper scrap prices continue to track LME gains

Prices in the recycling market also continued to rise.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):  Copper prices continue to move in only one direction – upwards. With a cash settlement of more than $13,300 per tonne, the London Metal Exchange copper price again reached a new all-time high last week. Prices in the recycling market also continued to rise.

According to the news agency MBI, wholesale purchasing prices for copper scrap increased by between €15 and €20 per 100 kilogrammes on the German market last week, depending on the grade. Brass and red brass scrap rose by €10 per 100 kg.

Purchase prices for the stainless steel scrap grades V2A and V4A also increased further, by €2 and €5 respectively. In the aluminium scrap market, only higher-quality grades recorded price increases, rising by €5 per 100 kilogrammes. Zinc scrap and lead scrap prices remained stable, according to MBI.
