Heavy Fire in Metal Recycling Plant Battled in Vancouver, WA
Firefighters remained at the scene Thursday morning.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Vancouver firefighters encountered several challenges battling a fire at a metal recycling plant blaze that broke out Tuesday night.
“The fire just kind of took off pretty quick, so we called for additional resources, Vancouver Fire PIO Bryan Fredrickson told KOIN.
“The water supply is difficult down here. It’s difficult to access, and so, it took us quite a while to get to the scene of the fire. Now we got heavy equipment working on it, and we should have it out probably by tomorrow morning.”
The pile of scrap metal is probably over 30 feet deep.
Firefighters remained at the scene Thursday morning.
Residents told reporters they were worried about air quality.
