Protestors Demand Withdrawal of Permit for Proposed Plastic Recycling Plant

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Environmentalists and locals expressed support for the authorities' recent decision to revoke the zoning approval for the proposed pilot plastic recycling plant in Columbia at a rally organized by the 'Stop Grace Coalition.' The gathering demanded that state and county officials carry out a more thorough environmental and community assessment of the project. Despite opposition, W.R. Grace and Co. has continued with the plan to construct the plant.

The demonstrators expressed their grave concerns regarding the plant's unknown effects on the environment and human health. It is impossible to determine if the emissions are carcinogenic or benign. The locals voiced their worries, claiming that the plant might increase health risks and bring pollution. They discussed the potential for the plant's operations to result in fires, poisonous leaks, and long-term harm to the quality of the air and water.
W.R. Grace pointed out that the pilot plant will only run on a small scale and is primarily intended to test new plastics recycling techniques. It further said that the plant will not burn or incinerate any plastics. The business also reaffirmed its dedication to carrying on with its operations in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
