Queen Anne’s Joins Bring Your Own Bag Movement
As part of the initiative, the County will be distributing 10,000 high-quality reusable shopping bags free of charge to residents and local businesses.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Following a tied vote on a proposed ordinance 25-06 An Act Concerning the Use of Plastic Bags in Queen Anne’s County, the County Commissioners have announced a new initiative in partnership with Plastic Free QAC, aimed at encouraging residents to bring their own reusable bags when shopping.
The “Bring Your Own Bag” campaign is a county-wide public outreach effort that promotes reusable bag use as a practical, voluntary step toward reducing waste and protecting the environment.
As part of the initiative, the County will be distributing 10,000 high-quality reusable shopping bags free of charge to residents and local businesses. The bags, made from recycled plastic bottles, are sturdy, washable, and comparable to those sold in stores for $1.50–$2.00 each.
