AMERIPEN Appoints Lynn Dyer as New Executive Director
Since its founding, AMERIPEN has played a central role in shaping and supporting legislation related to extended producer responsibility (EPR), labeling and claims, and chemicals in packaging.
SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): AMERIPEN, a leading policy and advocacy organization representing the entire packaging value chain, announced the appointment of Lynn Dyer as its new Executive Director, following a comprehensive national search. Dyer assumes the role effective immediately. A recognized leader with deep roots in the packaging industry, Dyer brings decades of experience in public policy, sustainability, and industry collaboration. Her proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and unite diverse stakeholders positions her to lead AMERIPEN through one of the most consequential periods for packaging policy in U.S. history.
“I’m honored to join AMERIPEN and continue advancing science-based, actionable packaging policy,” said Dyer. “This association plays a critical role in shaping fair, effective legislation, and I look forward to further collaborating with our members to strengthen our collective voice.” Dyer most recently served as Chief Sustainability Officer at Pactiv Evergreen (now Novolex), where she led the company’s sustainability initiatives. Her work has long reflected a commitment to environmental stewardship and pragmatic advocacy that balances innovation with responsibility.
In addition to her executive experience, Dyer is no stranger to AMERIPEN. Having held multiple volunteer leadership roles within the association over the years, she brings with her a strong understanding of the organization’s mission, values, and membership. Her leadership is expected to deepen member engagement and expand AMERIPEN’s impact across the policy landscape. “Lynn’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for AMERIPEN,” said Kelly Smith, Vice President of Institutional Affairs at Ferrero and President of the AMERIPEN Board of Directors. “Her expertise, strategic vision, and long-standing industry relationships make her the ideal leader to guide our association forward.”
Since its founding, AMERIPEN has played a central role in shaping and supporting legislation related to extended producer responsibility (EPR), labeling and claims, and chemicals in packaging. Under Dyer’s leadership, the association will continue to promote policy solutions that are informed, achievable, and grounded in real-world industry experience. Dyer will be formally introduced to AMERIPEN members at the Annual Summit on June 10–12 in Alexandria, VA. The industry’s premier packaging policy event, AMERIPEN’s member exclusive Annual Summit dissects today’s packaging landscape and is designed to help members prepare for the road ahead.
