S. Norton Group Declared Ambitious Investment in UK Metals Shredding Facility
The installation of the new 3000 hp Lindemann shredder will be managed by S. Norton’s in-house engineering team.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The S. Norton Group revealed a large investment in a brand-new, cutting-edge metals shredder facility at its location in Manchester, UK. In addition to significantly improving its sustainable credentials, the proposed £20 million upgrade will increase its shredding capacity by more than half.
The company claims that in order to increase its ability to shred waste metals, it intends to construct a new metals shredding facility. Additionally, it will increase the production of ferrous and nonferrous scrap metals of exceptional grade. Additionally, the facility will improve the company's capacity to process waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).

The in-house engineering team at S. Norton will oversee the installation of the new 3000 horsepower Lindemann shredder. It includes a custom, fully automated fire detection and suppression system as well as an advanced drive system. In addition to guaranteeing increased production, the new installation is anticipated to result in decreased emissions and energy usage.
Tony Hayer, the managing director, remarked on the development and commended the engineering team for planning and overseeing the significant capital project. He stated that the business will keep providing ethical recycling options for WEEE and scrap metal in all its forms.
