Weekly Scrap Metal Price Report- February 14, 2025
The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright edged higher by 3.36% in the last week.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly global market price trends for the different scrap metal categories on the Scrap Monster Price Index for the week of February 7–February 13, 2025, are given in the report that follows:
Copper Scrap Prices
Over the previous week, there was a modest increase of 3.44% in the price of copper scrap.
North America
The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright edged higher by 3.36% in the last week. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing was up 3.44% from the start of the week, closing the week at $4.51 a pound. Likewise, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing increased by $0.15 per pound, from $4.26 to $4.41.

The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the ScrapMonster Index increased by 3.36% for the week, from $4.46 to $4.61 per pound, as of Thursday, February 13, 2025. Over the past week, the price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing increased from $4.36 to $4.51 per pound. By the end of the week, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing was selling for $4.41 per pound, a slight rise of 4.26%.
USA Midwest
The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright has inched higher by 3.44% in the last week. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing saw a marginal 3.52% increase at the end of the week, going from $4.26 to $4.41 per pound. The price of copper scrap in the #2 Copper Wire and Tubing category edged higher by 3.61%. The price per pound increased from $4.16 to $4.31 during the week.
USA West Coast
According to the ScrapMonster Index, the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright increased by 3.34% during the week, from $4.49 to $4.64 per pound. This week, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing's price edged higher slightly from $4.39 to $4.54 a pound. By the end of the week, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had increased 3.50%, from $4.29 to $4.44 per pound.
China
The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the Index experienced a slight increase during the previous week, which ended on February 13, 2025. The weekly closing price of the commodity was CNY 76,250 per MT, which was higher than the previous week's price of CNY 76,100 per MT. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing's price edged higher by 0.21% from the week before. Furthermore, the price of the Index's #2 Copper Wire and Tubing was up by 0.21% at the conclusion of the week, rising from CNY 71,400 per MT to CNY 71,550 per MT.
Europe
From the previous week, the weekly price of #1 Copper Bare Bright remained at $6,000 per tonne. On the Index, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing was unchanged from the previous week at $5,200 per tonne. Additionally, during the week ending February 13, 2025, there was no change in the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing on the Index.
Brass Scrap Prices
The prices for brass scrap edged higher by 2.43% from the previous week.
North America
Red Brass went up from $2.55 to $2.61 per pound by the conclusion of the week. Yellow Brass also increased on the Index. The price of the commodity edged higher from $2.40 to $2.46 per pound, a 2.50% increase.

Over the previous week, Red Brass's price increased by 2.35%. Toward the end of the week, Yellow Brass's price per pound also went higher from $2.40 to $2.46.
USA Midwest
Red brass prices went higher from $2.53 to $2.59 per pound, a 2.37% increase from the week before. Additionally, Yellow Brass prices jumped on the Index. The commodity's price edged higher by 2.55%.
USA West Coast
Red Brass was up 2.32% from the previous week at $2.65 a pound as of Thursday, February 13, 2025. In addition, Yellow Brass's price per pound increased 2.51% over the previous week.
China
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices jumped higher slightly during the week ending February 13, 2025. The Index shows that Red Brass' price increased by CNY 50 per MT during the week, ending at CNY 38,400, while Yellow Brass' price edged higher by 0.14% during the week, from CNY 35,500 per MT to CNY 35,550 per MT.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
The Index's aluminum scrap prices recorded marginal decline over the previous week.
North America
E.C. Aluminum Wire's pricing decreased by 0.85% from $1.18 per pound the week before to $1.17 per pound. The price of 6063 Extrusions during the week ending February 13, 2025, was unchanged from the week before. On the Index, the price of Old Cast recorded no variation. Furthermore, UBC's prices witnessed no change week-on-week.

Over the past week, E.C. Aluminum Wire's price witnessed a decrease of 0.85% on the Index. In comparison to the previous week, the price of 6063 Extrusions remained unchanged during the week ending February 13, 2025. The Index indicated no change in Old Cast pricing. Also, during the previous week, UBC's prices held steady at $0.79 per pound.
USA Midwest
Since a week ago, the price of E.C. Aluminum Wire has declined by 0.85%. The commodity's price ended the week at $1.17 per pound last week. Meanwhile, the price of 6063 Extrusions recorded no change over the previous week. The ScrapMonster Index indicates that both UBC and Old Cast's prices remained unchanged from the previous week.
USA West Coast
Over the preceding week, the price of E.C. Aluminum Wire dropped by 0.85% to $$1.17 per pound. According to the ScrapMonster Index, the price of 6063 Extrusions were flat on the Index. Over the course of the week, the prices of Old Cast in the Index witnessed no variation. As of February 13, 2025, UBC's prices also recorded no change to close the week at $0.80 per Lb.
China
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices were flat on the Index, staying at CNY 19,400 per MT. Additionally, the price of 6063 Extrusions remained unchanged at CNY 18,300 per MT, when compared with the previous week. The price of Old Cast witnessed no change on the Index as of February 13, 2025. UBC prices held constant, staying flat at the previous week’s price of CNY 12,500 per MT.
Europe
The price of Old Cast held constant at $1,050 per tonne for the entire week. Furthermore, UBC prices remained at $1,250 per tonne, the same as the previous week, according to the ScrapMonster Index.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
The prices of Stainless Steel scrap recorded a marginal decline of 1.61% over the previous week’s prices.
North America
An analysis of 304 SS Solid pricing trend indicates that the commodity's price recorded a decline of 1.61% over the prior week. The commodity's price dropped from $0.62 per pound a week before to $0.61 per pound to end the week.

In addition, #1 Busheling's price recorded week-on-week jump by 1.22%.

The #1 HMS pricing recorded a jump of 6.06% during the past week. The price of the commodity ended the week at $350 per MT. At $405 per MT over the week, prices for Shredded Auto Scrap moved higher by 5.19%. Upon comparison with the previous week, HMS 80/20 prices increased by 1.82%. Furthermore, during the week, the price of #1 Busheling were up by 1.22%.
China
Over the previous week, there was no variation in #1 HMS prices. At CNY 1,630 per MT, the commodity's price remained stable.
Europe
There was no change in the price of #1 HMS during the course of the week; the ScrapMonster Index showed prices being constant at $170 per MT. Over the course of the week, Shredded Auto Scrap remained unchanged at $130 per MT from the previous week.
Lead Scrap Prices
Prices for lead scrap were stable as compared to the previous week.
North America
The Scrap Auto Batteries pricing charts showed that the commodity's prices had not moved from the week before. The price per pound stayed steady at $0.22 for the entire week.
