Stephen Rowland of Glencore Elected Chair of ICA Board of Directors
The President and CEO of ICA, Juan Ignacio Diaz, expressed his gratitude to Stephen Rowland for assuming the significant leadership role.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Washington, D.C.-based International Copper Association (ICA) has announced that Glencore's Stephen Rowland has been chosen to the position of Chair of the Board of Directors. . He replaces Shehzad Bharmal of Teck Resources, who held the position for the previous two years.
The nomination of Stephen Rowland as the Board's new leader was warmly received by ICA. Since joining the ICA in 2013, Glencore has been a participating member. In order to guarantee that copper continues to be the preferred material for a sustainable future, the company intends to carry on collaborating with the Association to promote contemporary and ethical production methods in the sector.

Rowland, meanwhile, expressed excitement about contributing to the direction of ICA over the ensuing two years.
The ICA is a not-for-profit trade association that represents half the world’s copper production. It is made up of 32 members from across six continents.
