7robotics Partners with Iowa Lumber Company

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Canopy Lumber Products, a manufacturer of custom pallets and shipping solutions, based in Rock Valley, Iowa, is partnering with Roseburg-based 7robotics.

The goal is to work toward enhanced safety, improved quality management and increased production capacity. Through this collaboration, Canopy will implement 7robotics’ pallet building system, which has “set a new standard” in automated manufacturing, according to a 7robotics press release.

The system caters to three distinct SKU variations — an alphanumeric code retailers use to identify and track a product — with the potential for expansion.

Equipped with features such as air system monitoring, product detection and auto nail gun lubrication, the system ensures optimal performance and operator safety, according to the press release.

Patrick Kooima, general manager of Canopy Lumber Products, said, 'After a few months of using the robot for production, I am pleased with the improvement in safety for our employees.'

Kooima said the system plays a role in streamlining operations and creating profitability on smaller production runs.

7robotics said the implementation of the robotic pallet building system has yielded significant time savings, streamlined product changeover processes and increased daily pallet production.

7robotics was established in 2019 and specializes in robotics and industrial automation technologies. Its team of engineers, programmers and technicians design and manufacture automated equipment and controls at two locations in Roseburg.
