Twin Rivers Paper Finalized Sale of Plaster Rock Lumber Mill

These will be utilized by the company’s pulp and cogeneration operations in Edmundston, New Brunswick.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Twin Rivers Paper Company announced that it has finalized the sale of Plaster Rock Lumber Corporation, its softwood lumber mill in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick. The sale of assets to North American forest products leader Groupe Lebel is part of the company’s strategy to concentrate on its core business of specialty and kraft paper production.

As part of the transaction, the two companies have entered into a long-term supply agreement by which Groupe Lebel will provide Twin Rivers Paper with by-product chips and biomass. These will be utilized by the company’s pulp and cogeneration operations in Edmundston, New Brunswick.

Tyler Rajeski, Chief Financial Officer of Twin Rivers Paper noted that the company is extremely proud of the work done by it to further solidify the Plaster Rock operation. Groupe Label is the right partner for its Plaster Rock mill and the company looks forward to expanding its relationship with them in months and years to come.
