SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Dubai has stepped up efforts to move towards a more sustainable future by boosting efforts to reduce or eliminate single-use plastics, which are being cited as the major cause for environmental pollution.

As part of its drive to eliminate plastic bottles, Dubai had recently launched ‘Dubai Can’- a campaign that encourages residents and tourists to use reusable water bottles and thereby reduce the city’s dependence on single-use plastic bottles. As many as 40 brand new water refill stations have been set up around the city. Yet another innovative initiative is the air to water technology- a latest technological advancement that converts humidity in the air by condensing it into drinking water.
