Premier Forest Products Announced Acquisition of South Wales Timber Company
As per reports, Premier is already engaged in high-level discussions regarding other projects.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Newport-based Premier Forest Products announced that it has completed a deal to acquire South Wales-based fellow timber company, Monmouthshire Timber Supplies.
Premier has witnessed substantial surge in turnover as well as profitability over the past two-year period. The latest acquisition is part of the company’s five-year strategy for growth, focused on concrete plans for diversification and vertical integration. The company aims further rapid growth to capitalise on the favourable market conditions. As per reports, Premier is already engaged in high-level discussions regarding other projects.

Commenting on the deal, Terry Edgell, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Premier Forest Products said that this is the most exciting phase in the company’s development since its inception in 1993. Bringing the Mon Timber brand into the group is considered as a significant step in achieving its ambitious goals. Furthermore, Mon Timber will further extend its product portfolio and service capabilities, he added.
Meantime, Chris Worthy, Managing Director, Mon Timber said that joining Premier Forest Products marks the beginning of a new period in the company’s 48-year history. There exist great synergies between the two businesses, he noted.
