ND Paper to Convert Paper Machine at Biron, Wisconsin Mill

The mill operates twin paper production lines with a combined annual production capacity of approximately 530,000 short tons.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): ND Paper announced strategic steps to boost its packaging products portfolio. The company announced conversion of paper machine at its Biron, Wisconsin mill.

According to company press release, the B26 paper machine at the mill will be converted from coated mechanical papers to lightweight, high-strength recycled packaging products by the end of the current year. The construction works are expected to commence in the first quarter of 2022.

The mill operates twin paper production lines with a combined annual production capacity of approximately 530,000 short tons. The B25 machine produces approximately 270,000 short tons annually of corrugating medium and linerboard, whereas the B26 machine produces approximately 260,000 short tons annually of lightweight coated mechanical (CM) papers.

The conversion process will significantly boost the annual manufacturing capacity at the mill to around 800,000 short tons. The capacity of the B26 machine will be over 500,000 short tons of packaging paper.

The conversion comprises construction of a new recycling facility, along with machine modifications. Also, the new pulping facility will provide over 1,550 short tons of OCC pulp per day.
