Fresh Initiative to Curb Environmental Footprint of Plastics

It must be noted that sustainable management of plastics will be critical to the upcoming phase of Covid-19 recovery.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Washington-based U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation announced a new initiative aimed at achieving plastics sustainability. The initiative, funded by Sheth Sangreal Foundation, will explore opportunities to reduce the environmental footprint of plastics.

In order to drive the initiative, the Foundation has hired Sustainability Fellow Kyla Fisher, who will focus on researching innovations across the plastics value chain. The initiative will work closely with the business community to drive significant progress in plastics sustainability and innovation. It must be noted that sustainable management of plastics will be critical to the upcoming phase of Covid-19 recovery.

The initiative will communicate with all stakeholders to identify the various opportunities and challenges faced in achieving plastics circularity. It will bring together public and private stakeholders to the same table, thus trying to solve the global plastics issue. Based on these interactions, the Foundation will release new research and educational materials, aimed at raising awareness among the public and business community.

The Foundation noted that the sustainable plastics initiative will help to curb the damage caused by mismanaged plastics.
