Meridian Waste Opens New Consolidated MRF in Virginia

The new facility was created due to a dire need for a secondary disposal and recycling option to manage the community’s growing waste and recycling challenges.

SEATTLE (Waste 360): Meridian Waste, an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company, has opened a new Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), named Blue Ridge MRF, in Christiansburg, VA.

Meridian Waste merged two Virginia Department of Environmental Quality permits for older Materials Recovery Facilities (MRFs) into one permit and built the new facility under the requirements of the PBR 104 permit number. The result is improved operational efficiencies and aesthetics. In addition, the new building is significantly larger incorporating a number of safety and efficiency improvements.

The new facility was created due to a dire need for a secondary disposal and recycling option to manage the community’s growing waste and recycling challenges.
