Ecomaine Manager Under Investigation for Alleged $300K Theft

Police are investigating whether ecomaine was overbilled by a staffing agency and whether Morin violated employee policies. No charges have been filed.

SEATTLE (Waste 360): John Morin, the manager of the Portland, Maine-area waste management nonprofit ecomaine, has been fired from his position and has been named in a search warrant for his alleged connection in a theft of more than $300,000.

According to reports in the Portland Press Heraldand Bangor Daily News, Morin was fired back in March for failing to follow regulations and procedures. A search warrant claims the investigation focuses on the use of temporary workers and ecomaine’s scrap metal businesses.
