Some major metal-handling ports along the US East Coast remained closed on Tuesday October 30 as the impact of superstorm Sandy continued to be felt.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said all public marine terminals would remain closed “until further notice'.

The Maryland Port Administration’s public marine terminals, including the Port of Baltimore, also remained closed to all ship and truck traffic on Tuesday, and a port spokesman said the US Coast Guard was keeping access channels leading to the port closed.
