Otsego County, Mich., Hires American Waste for Recycling Services
Residents will see a few changes in the process when the switch is made from Emmet County to American Waste.
SEATTLE (Waste 360): Officials in Otsego County, Mich., have awarded American Waste a four-year contract for countywide recycling collection services. American Waste was unanimously awarded the contract over Emmet County Recycling, which provided services since 2012.
American Waste came in as the lower bidder, and the costs will include hauling, processing and bin rental. The contract runs from June 1, 2019, through May 31, 2023.
According to a News-Review report, residents will see a few changes in the process when the switch is made from Emmet County to American Waste. The report notes that the recycling program will be accepting all of the same materials as before, plus Styrofoam now will be accepted.
