Republic Services Opens Modern North Texas Facility

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Phoenix-based Republic Services, Inc. has opened its most advanced hauling facility in Lewisville, North Texas. The new facility houses most modern infrastructure facilities to support hauling and maintenance operations at the highest standard. The 25,000 square foot facility featuring ultramodern employee workspace and amenities is designed to serve customers throughout North Texas.

Republic Services boasts the new facility as a model for its future hauling divisions. The company has been successful in implementing various sustainability principles during the planning and construction phase of the project. Enormous quantity of recycled steel was used in the construction of building frame. In addition, the facility also features highly efficient heating and cooling systems and LED lighting system aimed at large-scale conservation of energy. Further, it also contains a state-of-the-art truck shop and maintenance area that can handle up to eight trucks at the same time. The amenities provided in the facility area include USB chargers for personnel and secured storage drawers for storing personal belongings.

Bryan Boyer, area president of Republic Services stated that the ultra-modern facility is the proof of its ongoing strong commitment to the customers in the area. It reiterates Republic Services’ loyalty to its customers and the desire to offer full-fledged solutions to their growing recycling needs. Incidentally, Republic Services North Texas operations serve nearly 53,000 commercial and industrial customers and around 423,000 residential customers. The company generates annual economic impact of nearly $771 million.

The company had recently posted robust Q3 results, reporting healthy year-on-year growth in revenues and earnings, despite negative impacts on account of uncertainty in global recycling market and the damages caused by two major hurricanes. The earnings skyrocketed from $85.6 million in the corresponding quarter last year to $223.2 million in third quarter of 2017. The quarterly revenues also witnessed 6.3% year-on-year jump to $2.56 billion.

Republic Services, Inc. is the second largest provider of non-hazardous solid waste collection, transfer, disposal, recycling, and energy services in the United States, in terms of revenue. Its operations primarily consist of providing collection, transfer and disposal of non-hazardous solid waste, recovering and recycling of certain materials, and energy services.
