China Feb nickel production dips to lowest level since Oct 2011

China's nickel production dropped by 2% month-on-month to 21,391 metric tons in February 2012, it is the lowest level over the past four months, as per latest official data.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): China’s nickel production dropped by 2% month-on-month to 21,391 metric tons in February 2012, it is the lowest level over the past four months, as per latest official data.

According to the data, China produced 21,841 metric tons of nickel in January this year. In fact, the country’s nickel production remained at low level in the first four months of 2011 while it started to rise from last May through last October.

However, the nickel output started to drop in November. The monthly average nickel output were at around 27,000 tons in last November and December.

Meanwhile, the country’s nickel production in 2011 totaled 276,571 tons, higher than 214,086 tons in 2010.
