Asia's crude steel production grew 2.7% in February

According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association, the crude steel production by Asia recorded robust growth

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association, the crude steel production by Asia recorded robust growth of 2.7% during the month of February year-on-year.

The total crude steel production by China during February was 65.030 Million tonnes, edging higher by 3.4% when compared with the production of 62.890 Mt during February 2014. India produced 6.910 Million tonnes of crude steel, up 5.6% when compared to 6.541 Million tonnes production achieved during February last year.

Japan reported marginal decline in monthly crude steel output during February. Japan's crude steel output dropped from 8.449 Million tonnes in February 2014 to 8.434 Million tonnes in the same month this year.

South Korean crude steel production declined considerably by 4.4% from 5.334 Million tonnes in February 2014 to 5.097 Million tonnes in February this year.

The Taiwanese February steel output edged higher by 2.2% to 1.790 Million tonnes from 1.752 Million tonnes during same month last year.
