Aluminum prices to reach US$3,000/ton in 2011

Aluminum prices are expected to reach US$3,000/ton by the end of this year, affected by Japan’s earthquake and North Africa's unstable political situation

MOSCOW (Scrap Monster): United Company Russian Aluminum (UC RUSAL), the world's largest aluminum producer indicated that the aluminum prices are expected to reach US$3,000/ton by the end of this year, affected by Japan’s earthquake and North Africa’s unstable political situation.

Maxim Sokov, the director of UC RUSAL indicated that the aluminum prices would reach US$3,000/ton by the end of this year and the aluminum average prices would be at US$2,600/ton this year.

Sokov further said that the Aluminum Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) would launch to the market in this Q2, Yieh Corp reported.
