25 kg of Gold Bars worth Rs 6.4 Crore Seized, the Biggest Hunting in a Day

The Indian customs officials seized 25 kg of gold bars worth Rs 6.4 crore from two passengers who arrived from Dubai early on Sunday, claiming the largest gold hunting in a day.

MUMBAI (Scrap Monster): The Indian customs officials seized 25 kg of gold bars worth Rs 6.4 crore from two passengers who arrived from Dubai early on Sunday, claiming the largest gold hunting in a day.

The cops said that Mavin Aslam and Mohammed Aboobacker who hail from Kerala state arrived via different flights in the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. They were caught red handed easily as the officials scanned their hand bags where they concealed the yellow metal bars.

As per the report, 12 gold bars of one kg each and two gold bars of 10 tolas each worth Rs 3.14 crore, weighing 12.23 kg were grabbed from Aslam’s hand bag whereas Aboobacker was arrested with 13
gold bars of a kilo each and two gold bars of 10 tolas worth Rs 3.39 crore, weighing 13.26 kg.

The customs official said that the 25kg gold seizure pushed behind the record of an 18 kg of gold worth over Rs 5 crore smuggling case in April.

It is said that the gold smuggling in India has been reached four times higher than ever, indicating Rs 245 worth gold were grabbed during the period of 2013-2014.
