Voith's energy-efficient LEF Technology bags ERPC recycling award

Voith Paper's energy-saving Low Energy Flotation (LEF) technology bagged award in the 'Technology Improvement and R&D' category at the fourth European Paper Recycling Awards

BRUSSELS (Scrap Monster) : Voith Paper’s energy-saving Low Energy Flotation (LEF) technology bagged award in the ‘Technology Improvement and R&D’ category at the fourth European Paper Recycling Awards by the European Recovered Paper Council (ERPC). The prestigious award was received by Reinhard Bluhm, Product Manager, Voith Paper at a ceremony held in the European Parliament, Brussels on October 2.

Voith’s innovative flotation technique is said to significantly reduce the energy requirements needed to remove printing ink from paper fibers. The company developed new injectors and made modifications to the existing pumps to enable energy reduction up to 50% on flotation. Voith has successfully applied the technology to 10 systems worldwide.

Voith Paper, a division of the Voith Group, offers new machines for the production of graphic papers, board and packaging grades, specialty or tissue papers. The company also offers rebuilds, and pulp and paper related products and services.

The next edition of the ERPC recycling awards will be organized in 2015.
